Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students in a 7th–8th grade setting in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This is a full-time school-based opportunity for the 2026–2027 school year.
Position Details
- Location: Bridgeport, CT
- School Year: 2026–2027
- Hours: 32.5 hours per week
- Daily Schedule: 6.5 hours per day
- Grade Levels: 7th–8th Grade
- Position: Special Education Teacher
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students in 7th and 8th grade
- Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with student IEPs
- Monitor and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
- Provide appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
- Foster a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
- Appropriate Connecticut Special Education teaching certification required
- Previous experience working with middle school students preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school staff
