Special Education Teacher - Bristol, CT
Step into a rewarding role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. This opportunity focuses on making a meaningful difference in students’ lives without the need for toileting or feeding support. Work approximately 7 hours and 25 minutes daily, Monday through Friday, allowing you a predictable schedule and consistent engagement with your classroom.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to support each student’s unique needs
- Delivering engaging lesson plans that foster academic and social growth for high school learners
- Collaborating with general education teachers and staff to ensure inclusive classroom experiences
- Monitoring progress, documenting outcomes, and maintaining open communication with families
- Modifying instructional techniques to enhance learning opportunities and meet student goals
- Participating in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and team planning sessions
Qualifications sought:
- Valid credentials or certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working in high school settings with students requiring specialized instruction
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, behavior management, and IEP processes
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Adaptable, compassionate approach to education
This position is available for an immediate start and will continue with flexibility, depending on long-term hiring.
