Key Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching License
- Experience working with high school-aged students, preferably in a special education environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with staff and families
- Adaptable and resourceful in managing diverse learning needs and creating inclusive lesson plans
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique strengths and challenges
- Create engaging lesson plans that accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities within the high school caseload
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, adapting strategies as needed to support goal attainment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and related service providers to promote student success
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages participation and independence
