Special Education Teacher - Bristol, Connecticut

Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Connecticut Special Education Teacher license
- All required certifications to instruct special education in CT
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs highly valued
- Strong ability to adapt lessons for varying disability categories and age ranges
- Effective classroom management and excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to quickly integrate into different classroom settings and collaborate with school staff
Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional support to students according to established IEPs
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to foster inclusive learning
- Maintain accurate student records and progress notes
- Modify curriculum and assessments as needed for student accessibility and growth
- Create a positive, encouraging classroom atmosphere that supports social and academic development
- Participate in planning meetings, case conferences, and staff development sessions
