Special Education Teacher - Brownsburg, Indiana
Make a difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Life Skills or Structured Teach (Autism Support) in the Indianapolis area! This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a dedicated team and support a caseload of approximately 10–15 students within a structured, collaborative environment.
There are two distinct positions available:
- Life Skills Teacher: Moderate Intervention certification required; schedule runs from 7:20 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
- Structured Teach (Autism Support) Teacher: Mild Intervention certification required; schedule runs from 8:20 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.
What we’re seeking:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Indiana
- Moderate Intervention or Mild Intervention certification, depending on role
- Experience working with students with special needs, particularly in a Life Skills or Autism Support classroom
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and families
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom culture
What you’ll do:
- Design and adapt lesson plans to fit individual student needs
- Provide direct instruction and support to a caseload of 10–15 students
- Track and assess student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians
- Maintain organized records and accurate documentation
