Special Education Teacher | Cambridge, Massachusetts
Make an immediate impact in the elementary school environment by supporting young learners in an inclusive setting. We're seeking dedicated Special Education Elementary Teachers for contract roles, with opportunities available for both parental leave coverage and potential longer-term assignments.
In this position, you’ll work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 2:15 pm, within an elementary day school near Cambridge, MA. All classrooms are inclusive, fostering a collaborative spirit among staff. Your work will include co-teaching either ELA or Math, managing a diverse caseload of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and partnering closely with general education teachers to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
We’re looking for professionals who meet the following qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching certification
- Strong background in math instruction
- Experience in elementary education and inclusive classrooms is highly preferred
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Co-teaching ELA or Math alongside a general educator
- Managing and progressing IEP goals for assigned students
- Providing targeted support to students within inclusive settings
- Collaborating regularly with colleagues to ensure student success
- Documenting progress and contributing to IEP meetings
