Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility to obtain in Washington)
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field
- Prior experience teaching or supporting students with special needs preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP process and best practices in differentiated instruction
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Passion for fostering positive, inclusive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Adapt lesson plans and curriculum to meet students’ unique needs
- Provide direct instruction and academic interventions
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Monitor student progress and document outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and training sessions
- Foster a supportive and encouraging classroom atmosphere
