Make a difference in the lives of high school students by serving as a Special Education Resource Teacher for the upcoming 2026–2027 academic year. In this full-time, school-based contract role, you’ll provide essential support to students who require individualized instruction, playing a key part in their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction in reading, math, and other academic areas as outlined in students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Offer resource support through both push-in and pull-out models, adapting to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers to ensure inclusive and effective classroom environments
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining thorough and accurate records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing valuable insight and following through on compliance documentation
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families to foster a supportive and collaborative learning community
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid (active or pending) South Carolina Special Education certification required
- Previous experience working in resource or inclusion settings preferred
- Adept communication and collaboration abilities, with a passion for team-oriented problem-solving
- Demonstrated skills in supporting high school-aged learners both academically and behaviorally
