Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience or strong interest in supporting diverse learners
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and staff
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Adaptability and strong organizational abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field required
- Previous experience in a school setting is highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive instruction tailored to individual student needs in K-8th grade
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists
- Develop, maintain, and track progress on IEPs and required documentation
- Foster a nurturing, positive classroom atmosphere where all students can thrive
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet learners at various ability levels
- Attend faculty and team meetings as required
- Participate in ongoing professional development
