Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (Illinois PEL with LBS1 or equivalent)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in elementary settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development, documentation, and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet a wide variety of learning needs
- Passion for supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement tailored lesson plans for K-4th grade students with special needs
- Create and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions and supports as needed
- Cultivate a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment for all learners
- Provide direct instruction in both small group and individualized settings
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development
