Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Experience with elementary-aged students, preferably in a self-contained classroom
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage with parents and multidisciplinary teams
- Deep understanding of IEP processes and implementation
- Patient, flexible, and creative approach to individualized instruction
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute individualized lesson plans tailored to student abilities
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere promoting academic and social-emotional growth
- Track progress towards IEP goals, maintain thorough records, and provide ongoing updates to stakeholders
- Collaborate with paraeducators, therapists, and specialists to support each learner’s needs
- Communicate regularly with families, offering insight and support throughout the school year
- Adapt teaching strategies to address a variety of learning styles and behavioral needs
This full-time role requires 37.5 hours per week during standard school hours, offering you consistency along with impactful, rewarding experiences.
