Special Education Teacher - Childersburg, AL
Step into an impactful opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting K-6th grade learners for the upcoming academic year. This contract role offers the chance to make a real difference, guiding a caseload of 20 students and collaborating within a supportive school environment.
Starting August 12, 2026, and continuing through May 18, 2027, you’ll engage in a fulfilling, full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday). Your responsibilities will include managing your caseload, delivering individualized services according to each student’s IEP, crafting and updating IEP documents, and participating in meetings as part of a dedicated team striving for every student’s success.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Active Alabama K-6th Special Education certification required
- Previous experience with developing and implementing IEPs is highly valued
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and effective learning atmosphere
- Skill in adapting teaching methods to diverse learning abilities and needs
