Key Responsibilities:
- Provide adapted life-skills instruction tailored to meet individual student needs.
- Manage and implement IEPs, ensuring alignment with educational standards and the best interests of each learner.
- Collaborate with support staff to deliver classroom and medical accommodations.
- Foster an inclusive, respectful environment that encourages academic and personal growth.
- Engage in regular communication with families and multidisciplinary team members.
- Utilize evidence-based practices for teaching students within low-incidence populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement.
- Previous experience in a self-contained special education setting, particularly with students in low-incidence and life-skills programs.
- Strong knowledge of adapted curriculum and specialized instruction for students with medical and developmental needs.
- Ability to create, monitor, and report on individualized education goals.
- Committed, patient, and creative approach to student engagement and classroom management.
This position features a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:35 AM to 3:30 PM, offering consistency and work-life balance. Pay for this contract role ranges from $87 to $95 per hour, based on your experience and background.
