Elementary Special Education Teacher in Columbus, OH

In this full-time contract role, you’ll guide a self-contained classroom with a focused caseload of 6–8 students, supported daily by two dedicated classroom aides. The supportive and collaborative school environment ensures you’ll have the resources and partnership you need to excel.
Key dates: This position runs from August 13, 2026, through May 20, 2027, with standard school hours of 8:40 AM – 3:40 PM, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Intervention Specialist License or Special Education (SPED) Certification
- Preferred background in working with high-needs elementary students
- Strong commitment to individualized education and a passion for fostering student growth
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instruction and behavioral support for a small group of students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop and implement IEPs, adjusting strategies to meet each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate closely with classroom aides, therapists, and school administrators
- Engage positively with parents and guardians to support student success and progress
