Special Education Teacher - Concord, NH
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of fifth and sixth grade students by providing exceptional support as a Special Education Teacher. Two contract opportunities are available for the 2026-2027 academic year in a supportive educational setting near Concord, NH. You’ll play a vital role—either guiding a small resource room caseload or leading a Life Skills/Intensive Needs classroom for students requiring specialized care, with ample paraprofessional assistance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
- Experience or interest in working with elementary/middle school learners
- For the Life Skills/Intensive Needs position: familiarity with individualized instruction for students with complex medical needs and/or autism spectrum disorders
- Strong collaborative skills with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Ability to develop, adapt, and deliver IEP-driven instruction and collect progress data
Responsibilities:
- For the resource room role: manage a caseload of approximately 15 students, providing targeted intervention and instructional support in alignment with IEPs
- For the Life Skills/Intensive Needs position: instruct and oversee a self-contained classroom with three students, coordinating closely with dedicated paraprofessionals and related support staff
- Communicate regularly with parents and team members regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in IEP meetings, development, and implementation
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and dynamic learning atmosphere
These full-time roles (32-37.5 hours/week, Monday through Friday) extend from August 2026 through June 2027, offering the chance to impact students’ academic, social, and emotional success throughout the year.
