Essential Qualifications:
- Current North Carolina Adapted Curriculum Teaching License
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly with students with higher support needs or on the autism spectrum
- Familiarity with extended content standards and differentiated instruction
- Strong skills in IEP development, data collection, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management abilities
- Committed to fostering a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement lessons aligned to extended content standards for students with autism
- Write, update, and execute IEPs in collaboration with families and team members
- Adapt curriculum and materials to meet diverse student needs
- Collect data on student performance, monitor progress, and adjust instruction accordingly
- Foster social, emotional, and academic growth for students with varying abilities
- Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service providers
- Communicate frequently with guardians regarding student progress and strategies
- Uphold a positive, reflective attitude and commitment to ongoing professional growth
