Special Education Teacher - Cranston, RI

Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience with self-contained classrooms preferred
- Familiarity with intellectual disabilities and intervention strategies

- Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to student-centered learning
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach and nurture elementary students with intellectual disabilities in a supportive, structured environment
- Modify curriculum and materials to accommodate individual learning needs
- Collect data on student progress and use it to inform instruction
- Collaborate with related service providers, teaching staff, and families
- Manage classroom routines and maintain a safe, inclusive atmosphere
- Attend meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
