Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active LBS1 certification; or, at minimum, prior possession of PEL with LBS1 endorsement
- Demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably within elementary grade levels
- Extensive knowledge of special education practices, IEP development, and tailored instructional strategies
- Compassionate, patient, and collaborative approach to working with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying abilities
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that addresses both academic and social-emotional needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction across multiple grade levels in a self-contained classroom
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and specific needs as outlined in IEPs
- Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to foster a positive, supportive learning space
- Manage classroom routines, behavioral supports, and documentation in accordance with school and district policies
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, student assessments, and progress monitoring
