An immediate opening is available for a dedicated paraprofessional to assist a kindergarten classroom on a full-time contract basis. The assignment is to cover a medical leave, with potential for extension through the school year.
This paraprofessional role is situated in a general education kindergarten setting, working collaboratively with a full-time classroom teacher. The primary focus will be on providing instructional and classroom support for students, ensuring a positive and productive learning experience. There are no current toileting responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active GaPSC (Georgia Professional Standards Commission) Certification is required
- Demonstrated experience working with children in educational environments; prior pediatric or school-based experience preferred
- Ability to follow guided lesson plans and adapt to classroom needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to partner effectively with teachers and school staff
- High level of patience, compassion, and reliability
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher with daily routines and instructional activities
- Support individual and group learning, with a focus on engagement and positive reinforcement
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and organized classroom environment
- Offer redirection and encouragement to help students achieve their best each day
- Monitor students and provide feedback to the teacher regarding classroom progress
