Special Education Teacher in Danbury, CT

Ideal applicants will demonstrate flexibility and confidence working with diverse age groups within special education. You’ll work onsite during the 2026-2027 academic year, providing instruction and individualized support to learners with a variety of needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut Educator Certification with Special Education (SPED) endorsement
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting
- Ability to manage and instruct in a self-contained classroom environment
- Willingness to work with students from various grade levels
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Full-time availability according to the school district calendar
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to each student’s needs and IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families for holistic student support
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to IEPs, assessments, and student progress
- Establish a positive, structured, and supportive classroom setting for all learners
- Adapt teaching methods to meet a range of learning styles and abilities
- Participate in relevant professional development opportunities as required
This assignment is full-time, requiring 30-32.5 hours per week from August 24, 2026, to May 21, 2027 (dates subject to change). The contract is for onsite instruction throughout the school year.
