Special Education Teacher | Daphne, Alabama
Step into a vital Special Education teaching opportunity supporting K–5th grade students in a welcoming elementary school. This contract role is designed for professionals passionate about making a difference where their expertise is needed most—no Special Education teacher has served this school in three years, so you'll be shaping foundational experiences for students and staff alike.
You’ll work in a self-contained classroom, collaborating with another Special Education teacher to support a caseload of 20 students. The aim is to share responsibilities and foster a supportive, manageable learning environment. Daily hours run from 7:45am to 3:15pm, totaling 35 hours a week, with your assignment focused exclusively on one campus.
Ideal candidates are flexible, resourceful, and welcoming to travel opportunities. This is an on-site only position, and travel professionals are strongly encouraged to apply for this impactful role.
What You'll Need:
- Valid Educator Certification (be ready to provide visual proof upon request)
- Special Education teaching experience, ideally in a self-contained classroom setting
- Skilled in supporting K–5th grade students, including managing some toileting needs
- Strong commitment to collaboration and individualized instruction
- Willingness to fulfill a contract through May 2027
What You’ll Do:
- Develop, modify, and deliver individualized instruction to students in a self-contained environment
- Partner closely with colleagues to divide caseloads and responsibilities
- Foster a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment
- Implement IEPs, track progress, and maintain accurate documentation
