- Experience teaching in self-contained classrooms, especially at the middle or high school level, is highly valued
- Solid understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and differentiation strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with parents, colleagues, and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction aligned to students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment that accommodates diverse learners
- Collaborate with related service providers, general educators, and families to support student growth
- Monitor and document academic and behavioral progress, preparing reports and participating in IEP meetings
- Foster independence, self-advocacy, and social skills in students
- Maintain records and comply with all district and state special education requirements
