Multiple positions are available—including two for Autism-focused maternity leaves and two full-school-year placements for Elementary Emotional Impairments. Scheduling is full time, tailored to individual school locations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification required
- Appropriate Special Education endorsement: Autism Spectrum Disorder (SV) or Emotional Impairments
- Will not consider emergency or temporary licenses
- Experience with students with Autism highly preferred
- Prior work in center-based programs is a strong asset
- Comfortable addressing a spectrum of student needs, including mild to severe behaviors and managing aggressive episodes
- Familiarity with MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing Certification of MI Teachers
- START training is advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver targeted instructional strategies to meet students’ diverse needs
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Implement behavior intervention plans with professionalism and empathy
- Foster communication with families and support staff to maximize student progress
- Participate in professional development and team planning meetings
