Special Education Teacher - Deatsville, Alabama

These classrooms are designed to deliver high-quality instruction and support to elementary students, with well-resourced teams including dedicated paraprofessionals. Deliver individualized education and foster a nurturing environment for students with moderate to significant needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification (verify credentials at the Alabama ALSDE certification portal).
- Background working with students in Language/Autism units or similar self-contained settings is preferred.
- Strong collaborative spirit to partner with paraprofessionals, therapists, and administrators.
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs and ensure compliance with IDEA guidelines.
- Positive, patient, and adaptable approach supporting a range of communication and behavioral needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated instruction to elementary-age students in self-contained settings, focusing on language and autism needs.
- Collaborate with teams of 3-5 paraprofessionals per unit.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 10-20 students (depending on school placement).
- Monitor student progress, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain detailed documentation.
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom culture that celebrates each learner’s strengths.
