Special Education Teacher in Denver, CO
Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher serving middle school students in a vibrant, supportive environment near Denver, CO. We are seeking passionate educators for full-time contract roles supporting students with mild to significant needs, with schedules available at Northglenn Middle School and Rocky Top Middle School. Both positions begin this fall, offering either a 7-week assignment or a longer-term option through winter break, with the potential for extension.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (DOE) Teacher License with Special Education Generalist Endorsement (Ages 5-21) required.
- Experience teaching students with mild to moderate learning differences or significant support needs (SSN) desired.
- Ability to manage varied caseloads and adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Proficiency in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff.
- Commitment to cultivating an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.
- Completion of all time-sensitive credentialing requirements, including fingerprint clearance and reference checks through the provided platform.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction for students in Learning Services or SSN programs, supporting academic, functional, and social-emotional development.
- Maintain and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), monitor progress, and update goals as necessary.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure student success and meaningful inclusion.
- Communicate regularly with families, administrators, and team members.
- Foster a welcoming, supportive classroom that celebrates student diversity and growth.
