Special Education Teacher in Denver, CO
Make a difference in the lives of students as a dedicated Special Education Teacher in a supportive school environment. Two immediate opportunities are available for passionate educators committed to full inclusion and personalized learning. These roles offer the chance to deliver impactful instruction to students with a range of learning needs at the middle school level.
Available assignments include a full-time Learning Services position with a mild to moderate caseload at Northglenn Middle School for a 7-week contract beginning September 23, as well as a flexible position at Rocky Top Middle School supporting students with significant support needs (SSN) and/or as a Learning Specialist. The Rocky Top role may be filled as full-time or half-time, depending on your preference and expertise, with coverage needed ASAP through winter break (and possibly the end of the school year).
What You'll Need:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education Teacher License with a Special Education Generalist Endorsement (ages 5–21)
- Experience working with middle school students, ideally supporting mild to moderate and significant needs learners
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school-based teams and contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Flexibility to work across campuses and support evolving student needs
- Completion of required credentialing and fingerprinting steps as part of the onboarding process
- Professional references (uploaded prior to consideration)
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide targeted instruction for mild to significant support needs students
- Collaborate with staff and families to ensure student growth
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports
- Serve on multi-disciplinary teams to support student success
