Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Previous experience in a school setting with students who have varying learning needs
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with families, support staff, and fellow educators
- Ability to foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to meet diverse student goals
- Develop, write, and manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with local and federal guidelines
- Conduct assessments to identify student strengths, needs, and progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and ensure classroom accessibility
- Participate in parent meetings, team planning sessions, and professional development activities
- Maintain clear, organized records and regularly report on student progress
