Special Education Teacher | Derry, New Hampshire

Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid special education teacher certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience or a strong interest in working with students requiring intensive needs support
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Skill in adapting curricular content for life skills and functional academics
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the case manager for 5th/6th grade students in a specialized program
- Deliver instruction tailored to each learner’s educational and behavioral goals
- Coordinate and oversee IEP meetings, documentation, and reporting
- Foster a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed for optimal student growth
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and service providers
The position runs Monday through Friday, with typical hours totaling 35-37.5 weekly. As details become available, the scope of responsibilities may be further refined to ensure a supportive and effective working environment.
