In this role, you will:
- Lead a self-contained classroom serving 7–9 students with diverse educational and medical needs.
- Deliver tailored life-skills instruction adapted to each student’s unique learning profile.
- Manage IEPs and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively.
- Partner with support staff and therapists to create inclusive, accessible educational experiences.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and data-driven decision making in all aspects of instruction and classroom management.
Candidates should have:
- A valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement.
- Previous experience teaching in a self-contained special education setting, particularly with students requiring significant support for academic life skills.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and legal compliance.
- Genuine commitment to fostering independence and growth for students with complex needs.
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
The full-time schedule runs Monday through Friday from 8:35 AM to 3:30 PM, providing a consistent routine in a dynamic educational environment.
