Special Education Teacher - Des Plaines, Illinois

Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate special education endorsements (PreK – age 22)
- At least three years of specialized experience in Special Education, specifically Early Childhood
- Strong ability to facilitate IEP meetings and support compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Effective communicator and team collaborator
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as case manager for early childhood special education students
- Facilitate and document IEP meetings, guaranteeing all procedures and regulations are followed
- Act as an instructional coach, mentoring special education staff and boosting inclusive strategies
- Work closely with administrators and instructional teams to expand special education services
- Monitor and improve high-quality instructional practices for diverse learners
- Support families, teachers, and students by ensuring accessibility to appropriate resources and interventions
This is a full-time, school-based role, with a commitment of 32.5 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and continuing through May 27, 2027.
