The position uses a resource model, offering both one-on-one and small group direct instruction through pull-out sessions, as well as push-in support within general education classrooms. Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 certification
- Professional Educator's License (PEL) or eligible for PEL via ISBE’s Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS) if holding a comparable out-of-state credential
- Special Education teaching experience, particularly within elementary resource models, is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide both academic and social/emotional support to diverse learners
- Strong collaboration skills with general education faculty, related service staff, and families
- Resourcefulness and adaptability within onsite, team-based environments
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs personalized to each student’s needs
- Deliver direct academic instruction through scheduled pull-out sessions
- Support inclusion by providing push-in academic and behavioral assistance in general education classrooms
- Collaborate regularly with faculty, staff, and families to ensure holistic student success
- Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with state and district guidelines
- Foster a welcoming, positive, and resource-rich classroom experience onsite
