K5 Special Education Teacher Behavioral Support

Soliant is seeking multiple qualified Special Education Teachers for full-time positions supporting elementary students during the 2026–2027 school year.
These opportunities are ideal for dedicated special education professionals who are passionate about supporting students with a range of behavioral and educational needs in a structured, self-contained classroom environment.
Assignment Details
Position: Special Education Teacher
Schedule: Full-Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Grade Levels: Elementary, Grades K–5
Setting: Self-Contained Special Education Classrooms
Support Staff: Paraprofessionals are present in the classroom
Student Needs: Mild to moderate and moderate to severe behavioral needs
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting.
- Develop and implement individualized instruction based on student academic, behavioral, and educational needs.
- Support students with mild to moderate and moderate to severe behavioral needs.
- Implement classroom routines, behavioral strategies, and individualized supports to promote student success.
- Develop and monitor IEP goals and maintain appropriate documentation of student progress.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to provide consistent classroom and student support.
- Work closely with general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, and related service providers.
- Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries within the school environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for the state of Delaware.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
- Experience supporting students with behavioral needs preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a self-contained classroom environment.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching students in grades K–5.
- Experience working with students with mild to moderate and/or moderate to severe behavioral needs.
- Experience working in a self-contained special education classroom.
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
- Experience collaborating with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary school teams.
- Strong behavioral intervention and classroom management skills.
