Step into a meaningful part-time opportunity supporting elementary students through specialized instruction. This contract position is designed for an experienced Special Education Teacher eager to contribute to a positive learning environment over the full school year. You’ll work two days each week, averaging around 16 hours, serving an elementary caseload and making a vital difference for young learners.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience managing elementary caseloads in school settings
- Strong understanding of IEP process, documentation, and implementation
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet a range of learning needs
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Passion for fostering academic, social, and emotional growth among students
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
- Deliver direct instruction and provide accommodations to ensure access to the general curriculum
- Collaborate with educators, families, and specialists to support student success
- Assess and track student performance, progress, and goals regularly
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and adaptive classroom environment
- Maintain accurate records and report on student growth and needs
