Special Education Teacher - Eagle, Colorado
Make a real impact by supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming elementary school environment. This contract position begins in early November 2026 and runs through late May 2027, offering you the opportunity to establish strong relationships and make a difference for students with mild to moderate needs.
Enjoy a consistent weekly schedule of 40 hours, with school days set at 7:40–2:50 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 8:40–2:50 on Wednesdays. You'll work with an elementary caseload of around 20 students, developing individualized learning strategies and collaborating closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and related service providers. Your expertise will guide students toward achieving personal and academic goals in an inclusive setting.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with mild/moderate learning needs
- Strong understanding of IEP process and progress monitoring
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials for diverse learning styles
- Collaborative approach and excellent communication skills
- Dedication to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction as outlined in IEPs
- Assess students’ skills, monitor progress, and adjust goals as needed
- Develop lessons and activities suitable for a range of abilities
- Maintain accurate records and participate in meetings
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure student success
