The assignment runs from late February through mid-May, offering a focused period to demonstrate your specialized skills.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Active CDE SPED License with Generalist Endorsement (5-21) is required. Substitute, temporary, or interim licenses will only be considered with official proof of application for the SPED License and appropriate endorsement.
- License format must be: Professional Teacher License #000000, Endorsed In: Special Education Generalist (5-21).
- Experience in middle school settings is strongly preferred.
- No VOCO or hybrid roles; on-site instruction only.
- Deep understanding of teaching methods, instructional strategies, and specially designed instruction for students on alternative standards.
- Thorough command of the IEP (Individualized Education Plan) process, including documentation, meetings, and compliance.
- Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration within IEP teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction for students with varying needs, adhering to alternative academic standards where appropriate.
- Develop lesson plans, implement evidence-based strategies, and monitor student progress.
- Lead and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring legal and educational compliance.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to provide an inclusive and effective learning environment.
- Uphold all professional standards and regulatory requirements related to special education.
