Special Education Teacher in Evergreen, CO
In this rewarding opportunity, you’ll provide vital educational support to elementary students as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis for the 2026-27 school year, with an extended reduced-schedule commitment through the summer months. The assignment runs from August 7, 2026, through May 31, 2027, with additional limited services beyond the school year's end. You’ll work closely with a manageable caseload of just 3-4 students, developing and implementing individualized education plans to support their growth and success.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification for the state (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for interacting with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated understanding of IEP processes, implementation, and documentation
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of elementary students in your caseload
- Develop, update, and monitor progress toward individualized education plan (IEP) goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure consistency and student success
- Maintain clear communication with families regarding student progress and needs
- Provide ongoing documentation and compliance with local and state special education regulations
- Support students’ social, functional, and academic development in both classroom and smaller group settings
The schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm, totaling 32 hours per week, allowing for work-life balance while still making a profound impact in students’ lives.
