Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Current and valid Special Education teaching credential appropriate for mild to moderate needs
- Previous experience in elementary settings strongly preferred
- Proficiency in developing and adapting lessons for students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with general education staff, support staff, and families
- Ability to manage IEPs, run meetings, and maintain accurate educational records
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and specialized academic support to elementary students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs); maintain compliance with timelines and documentation
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to promote academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success
- Employ differentiated teaching techniques to accommodate diverse learners
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student progress and school-wide initiatives
- Participate in professional development and required meetings as part of the school community
