As a Special Education Teacher for grades 9–12, you'll not only provide essential academic support but also take on the rewarding position of advisory class leader, empowering students to achieve their fullest potential. Full-time schedules (35 hours/week, August 24th through EOSY) allow you to gain valuable experience blending inclusion teaching and advisory skills—making a significant impact and growing your professional toolkit.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification (valid for Massachusetts)
- Experience working with high school students in inclusive settings preferred
- Ability to develop and implement structured lesson plans and advisory activities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Collaborative approach with staff, students, and families
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an advisor for assigned students, running an engaging advisory class
- Deliver academic support to 9th–12th grade students across 4 periods daily
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment
- Coordinate with general education faculty to implement IEP goals
- Monitor and communicate student progress
