Qualifications:
- Active Special Education teaching license valid in Michigan is required
- Previous experience working with students at the elementary, middle, and/or high school level is strongly preferred
- Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet a variety of learning needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, support staff, and families
- Understanding of differentiated instruction, classroom management, and effective behavioral intervention strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, personalized instruction to students with a range of exceptionalities
- Develop, implement, and review IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Track student progress, collect data, and maintain documentation as mandated
- Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere while managing student behavior and supporting social-emotional development
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and any required training sessions
