Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique strengths and challenges
- Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and modifications within K-4th grade settings for a caseload of up to 33 students
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to foster inclusive, supportive classroom environments
- Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of student progress, regularly updating IEPs in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Communicate frequently with families and caregivers to share progress updates and resources
- Flexibly adapt to varying grade assignments, as the specific grade level is subject to change
Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Multicategorical Special Education Certification (required)
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a school setting, ideally in K-4th grades
- Strong understanding of instructional best practices and special education compliance
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage a maximum caseload of 33 students with compassion and efficacy
