Qualifications & Experience:
- Active South Carolina Special Education Teacher certification required
- Previous experience teaching in a special education setting, preferably with middle school students and moderate needs
- Strong understanding of adaptive curriculum strategies and differentiated instruction
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and fellow educators
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging instruction tailored to individual student learning plans
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse abilities and objectives
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress and growth
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, specialists, and support staff to deliver holistic student care
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student achievements and development
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights for effective goal setting
