This role begins as soon as possible and continues through December 18th, providing an engaging experience within an elementary school near Garland, TX.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Certification is required
- Hold one of the following endorsements: Self Contained, Core Subjects, or Generalist (endorsement must match grade level for this position)
- Recent classroom or comparable experience working with students who have diverse learning needs
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instruction
- Skills in classroom management, team collaboration, and differentiated instruction
- Committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Must be available to work onsite for the duration of the contract
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to a caseload of students in a Life Skills (FASE) classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to support each student’s learning and development
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Adapt curriculum and instructional techniques to meet the unique needs of each student
- Maintain accurate records to track student progress and comply with required documentation
- Participate in relevant meetings and ongoing professional development
