Two contract positions are available, each offering the opportunity to provide targeted support for small groups of students in a positive, inclusive learning environment near Goodyear, AZ. Work directly with students in either grades 4/5 (Laveen Elementary) or grades 5/7 (Desert Meadows), each class consisting of just 6 students, allowing for focused, individualized instruction.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- State certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with cross-categorical or behavior classrooms strongly preferred
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs
- Background in using positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and students
- Ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning styles and behavioral needs
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver specialized instruction to small groups of students with a range of behavioral and learning needs
- Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and administrators to implement accommodations
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom that encourages positive behavior and academic growth
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and goals
- Use data to assess student performance and adjust interventions as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities
