With a manageable caseload currently at 24 students—which may increase—you’ll be the sole Special Education teacher at your site, collaborating closely with a dedicated SPED coordinator and a skilled SPED paraprofessional. This opportunity allows you to create lasting, individual connections with your students while enjoying strong team support.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (required)
- Previous experience in Special Education settings
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and compliance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility, creativity, and adaptability to meet evolving needs
- Collaborative spirit to partner with coordinators, paraprofessionals, and general staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction to students with diverse learning needs in accordance with IEP goals
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to each student’s abilities
- Regularly assess and monitor student progress, sharing updates with families and the larger team
- Work in concert with the SPED coordinator and paraprofessional to provide comprehensive support
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and ensure all legal requirements are met
- Create a classroom environment that fosters inclusion, safety, and academic curiosity
