Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting young learners in an Early Childhood Special Education setting near Grand Haven, MI. You will lead a classroom of currently six students, with the potential to welcome additional students throughout the year. Your personal classroom comes with the support of three assistants, providing a low student-to-staff ratio that allows for individualized attention and intervention. The position is designed to begin part-time, up to 30 hours per week, with the possibility of expanding to full-time as enrollment grows.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Michigan Special Education certification required
- Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) endorsement preferred, but open to strong candidates with other special education credentials
- Experience working with early childhood or special education populations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to create and implement individualized instruction in a nurturing, inclusive setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction based on each child’s IEP goals
- Collaborate with your three classroom assistants to ensure supportive and engaging learning experiences
- Foster positive relationships with students and their families
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with district and state guidelines
- Cooperate closely with a veteran ECSE teacher on-site for guidance and collaboration
