What we're seeking:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (North Carolina or eligible for reciprocity)
- Experience working with students in resource or self-contained/adaptive classrooms
- Knowledge of IEP planning, implementation, and compliance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to tailor academic and behavioral interventions to students’ unique needs
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Adaptability and passion for advocating for students with various learning abilities
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with school teams and families
- Provide instruction in small group or individual settings, modifying curriculum as needed
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate, timely documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
