Special Education Teacher in Hanover, PA

Make a difference in students’ lives as an onsite Special Education Teacher for a learning center near Hanover, PA. This contract role offers you the opportunity to support a dedicated team focused on exceptional education in Autistic Support classrooms. Positions start as soon as all required Pennsylvania clearances and pre-trainings are complete, running from August 2026 through June 2027.
Key Requirements:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for Pennsylvania
- Experience or strong interest in working with students who have autism spectrum disorders
- Ability to adapt to changes in classroom assignments and student needs
- Commitment to providing a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Completion of all required Pennsylvania clearances before start date
- Willingness to participate in assigned pre-employment training through the Intermediate Unit
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to students in Autistic Support Rooms
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with support staff and families
- Use evidence-based strategies to promote academic and behavioral growth
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of student progress
- Foster a positive, safe, and respectful classroom culture
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related services providers, and other educational team members
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and caregivers regarding student achievement and needs
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
- August 2026 through June 2027
