Make a meaningful impact as a dedicated Special Education Teacher supporting a student in a one-on-one home setting. This full-time contract opportunity is located near Hawkinsville, GA, with services provided in the student’s home environment. You’ll work closely with a student requiring specialized academic instruction and sign language interpretation for supplemental services including therapies and vision instruction.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher; certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) education strongly preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) to effectively interpret for the student during instructional and therapy sessions
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds
- Ability to deliver individualized lesson plans and adapt strategies to meet specific educational goals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with families and service providers
- Willingness to work in-person within the student’s home environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging, comprehensive academic instruction tailored to the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Serve as an ASL interpreter during therapy sessions, vision instruction, and other related services
- Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Collaborate with the student’s family and related service providers to ensure consistency and quality in service delivery
- Maintain a supportive, patient, and structured learning atmosphere in the home
