Special Education Teacher in Oxford, NC
Exciting opportunity for a Special Education Teacher passionate about supporting students with diverse needs in a dedicated educational environment. This contract position runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, offering full-time hours, Monday through Friday, from 7:15am to 3:15pm. The role involves working with a manageable caseload of 12 middle school students on mild to moderate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in a self-contained classroom setting.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (EC)
- Demonstrated experience with mild to moderate disabilities in a self-contained classroom
- Knowledge of developing and implementing effective IEPs
- Strong classroom management skills and adaptive teaching strategies
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with families, general education teachers, and support staff
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to student IEP goals
- Collaborate with related service providers and support staff to ensure effective delivery of services
- Maintain documentation of student progress and provide regular updates to families and multidisciplinary teams
- Utilize data-driven decision-making for instructional adjustments
