What You’ll Need:
- Valid Utah Special Education teaching license/certification
- Previous experience working with K-3 students in a Life Skills or special education setting is strongly preferred
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere
- Strong collaborative skills to partner with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
- Excellent communication, planning, and documentation abilities
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support diverse learning needs
- Deliver engaging lessons in life skills, social development, and academic content
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to ensure accessibility for all students
- Assess student progress regularly and modify instruction as needed
- Maintain thorough records and communicate progress with families and staff
- Collaborate with a committed team to provide the best learning experiences for students
Working as a Special Education Teacher in this Life Skills classroom will allow you to build meaningful relationships with students, positively shape their future, and grow your professional skills. This position runs from late July 2026 through late May 2027, offering a stable contract throughout the school year.
